Missed calls and voicemail drops
Text leads back automatically when you miss their call, and leave a recorded voicemail with one click.
Updated
A missed call is a lead who wanted to talk. ControlLaunchPad makes sure they hear back, and voicemail drops save you from saying the same message twenty times a day.
What happens when nobody picks up
- 1. The call rings for the time you've set, then goes to voicemail.
- 2. A voice reads your greeting before the beep. If they leave a message, it lands in the inbox and on the lead's timeline with a player.
- 3. The call is logged as Missed call or Voicemail, and the lead's owner sees it in the bell.
- 4. About 30 seconds later, the lead gets your missed-call text from your business number, if it's on.
- 5. Any automation set to run when A lead's call is missed starts.
Set up the missed-call text
Owners and admins set this up once for the whole team, on Calling under Missed calls.
- 1. Turn the switch on.
- 2. Write the text under Text them back, up to 320 characters (two texts). Use Insert for + First name, + Lead's owner and + Company.
- 3. Check How it looks, filled in for a real lead.
- 4. Write the Voicemail greeting callers hear.
- 5. Pick how long calls Ring for: 15, 20, 30 or 45 seconds.
- 6. Press Save changes.
Leave out the word "cancel": phone carriers read it as a request to stop texts, so the app won't save it.
The text isn't sent to leads who opted out of texts, nobody gets it twice within two hours, and it's skipped if someone already called them back or replied by text or email in those 30 seconds.
Tip: The missed-call text is built in, so you don't need an automation that texts on a missed call. Use automations for the rest, like a task to call back.
Voicemail drops
Drops are messages you record once and leave on any voicemail with one click, so you can move on to the next call while it plays. They're on Pro and up.
Make a drop
- 1. On Calling, go to Voicemail drops.
- 2. Press Record a drop to record in the browser (up to a minute; you'll see a level meter and can play it back and re-record), or Type a message to have a voice read your words. Hear it previews a typed one.
- 3. Give it a Name.
- 4. Owners and admins can turn on Share with the team. Everyone else's drops are their own.
Rename or delete drops from their row. A deleted drop offers Undo for a moment.
Leave a drop
- 1. Call the lead.
- 2. When you reach their voicemail, press Leave a voicemail in the call bar.
- 3. Pick a drop. It plays your message while you move on.
Try it in practice mode
In practice mode, use Simulate an incoming call on the Calling page. Pick a lead and press Ring, then let it ring out to see the missed call, the voicemail and the text back, all inside the app.
