Your texting privacy and terms page
Carriers want public privacy and terms links on every texting campaign. Turn on the ready-made page we host for your workspace and its links are filled in for you.
Updated
Carriers turn down texting campaigns that don't link to a privacy policy and terms explaining your texts. ControlLaunchPad hosts a ready-made page for your workspace, written the way carriers expect, so you don't need to write your own.
What it says
- Your workspace's name, and your business address when it's set.
- What you text people about, and that how often varies.
- How people agree to get texts, and that agreeing is never required to buy anything.
- That message and data rates may apply.
- How to stop texts (STOP) and get help (HELP), with your campaign's own replies when it has them.
- That mobile numbers and consent aren't shared or sold to anyone for marketing.
- How to reach you: the contact email or phone number you add.
It's in plain words, and it doesn't name any company but yours.
Turn it on
Owners and admins:
- 1. Open Phone & texting and find Texting privacy and terms page.
- 2. Add a contact email or phone number where people can reach you about your texts. At least one is needed.
- 3. Turn it on and save.
Its two links, one for privacy and one for terms, show on the card. The campaign form fills them in for you; if you already sent your campaign, they're ready to use when you send a fixed one.
Good to know
- The links use a private code, not your workspace's name, so they keep working if the workspace is renamed.
- Carriers check the links you registered, so keep the page on while you text. Turning it off takes the page down straight away.
- The page shows only while your workspace is active.
- Already have privacy and terms pages about your texts on your own website? Use those links in your campaign instead.
- You're responsible for what your texting program does: keep the page true, and change your contact details when they change.
