Use the texting setup already in your phone account
Already registered for texting? Keep your business registration, approved campaign and numbers: link once and text from ControlLaunchPad the same day, with no new fees.
Updated
If your phone account is already registered for texting, with an approved business registration, an approved campaign and numbers on it, you don't start over. Link the account once and keep all of it: no new registration fees, no new review and no wait.
Only owners and admins can do this. First link the account in Phone & texting: see Phone & texting and your workspace email.
See what's already there
When you link the account, we look at what's in it: your business registrations, and each texting service with its campaign, the campaign's status and its numbers. While your own campaign isn't approved, Phone & texting shows them in a card above the steps, Already registered? Keep it, with where each one's replies go now. Changed something in your phone account since? Press Look again.
A campaign carriers turned down is listed with the reason, but it can't be used here. Fix it in your phone account, or register a new campaign here.
Use your business registration
When the account is linked, we use the registration already in it (an approved one first). If there are several, Use this one under Use the registration already in your phone account switches to another. Nothing is charged, and nothing is sent to carriers again.
Use your campaign
- 1. In Already registered? Keep it, find your campaign and press Use this campaign.
- 2. Pick the numbers to bring in, and who uses each one (one number each). A number that's in another ControlLaunchPad workspace can't be brought in.
- 3.
Read what changes, then confirm:
- Replies and delivery updates for these numbers will come into ControlLaunchPad instead of where they go now (for example, another app you use), and calls to them will ring in ControlLaunchPad.
- Your campaign, business registration and numbers stay in your phone account. Nothing new is charged.
- If the campaign was registered for another kind of text (one-time codes or alerts, say), you confirm that too: carriers can block texts that don't match what a campaign was registered for.
If the campaign is already approved, texting goes live right away, the same day: owners and admins get a bell and an email ("Texting is live"), and calls to the numbers ring here too. If it's still under review, texting turns on by itself when carriers approve it.
Note: Texts to numbers in this service that you don't bring in will come to ControlLaunchPad too, and they won't show anywhere. Bring in every number you text from. Some texting services send each number's texts to that number's own address instead. Then replies to numbers you don't bring in keep going where they go now, but delivery updates for every text sent through the service come to ControlLaunchPad. The confirmation says which kind yours is.
When it can't be used
- Its campaign was turned down, or it has none.
- One of its numbers is already in another ControlLaunchPad workspace.
- It's registered as a sole proprietor, which allows one number in all: bring in just one, and take any other number out of this workspace first (the confirmation names it).
If we already set up a texting service for you
When you link an account, we make a texting service for ControlLaunchPad in it. Once you use yours instead, numbers you bought here move into yours, and the empty one we made is deleted. If ours has a campaign of its own, it's left in your phone account.
Later
- Changed it in your phone account? If replies for these numbers are pointed somewhere else later, we don't change them back on our own. Phone & texting says so, owners and admins get a bell, and Point replies here again switches them back.
- A number taken out of the texting service in your phone account stops texting here, and its row says so.
- Removing a number from ControlLaunchPad leaves it in your texting service and on your campaign. If your service sends texts to its own address: Texts to it still come to ControlLaunchPad's address on your texting service and won't show anywhere. Move it to another texting service in your phone account if you text from it elsewhere.
- If the texting service is deleted in your phone account, we go back to one of our own and your numbers join it. Texts wait until a campaign is approved on it.
- Unlinking stops replies and delivery updates coming here, and changes nothing else: only addresses that still point at ControlLaunchPad are cleared (one you already pointed back at another app stays), and your texting service, campaign and numbers stay in your phone account. To send replies to another app again, set its address there. If you link again, we ask you to confirm before switching anything.
