AI credits and built-in suggestions
What AI credits are, what uses them, what happens when they run out, and how to turn AI off.
Updated
Every plan includes AI credits for each active seat, every month. They start again on the 1st of each month (UTC), and this month's don't carry over.
Credits on each plan
- Starter: 30 credits per seat a month.
- Pro: 400 credits per seat a month.
- Business: 800 credits per seat a month.
- Enterprise: agreed with our team.
During the free trial, AI uses up to 30 credits per seat a month, whichever plan you're trying. The plan's own credits start once the trial ends and the first payment goes through.
What uses credits
- Draft for me (on a lead and in the inbox): 1 credit a draft.
- AI reports (Ask your CRM, in search with Ctrl K): 3 credits an answer. AI reports are on Pro and up; on Starter, the Pro badge says what they do.
- AI automation builder (on Automations): 3 credits a draft, only when one is made. It's on Pro and up; on Starter the Pro badge says what it does.
Background AI uses no credits: the brief at the top of a lead, reply ideas in the inbox, labels on incoming messages, the morning briefing and call wrap-ups. It runs within a fair-use limit of 300 a month per seat.
You always review what AI writes. Nothing it writes is sent on its own.
When AI doesn't answer
Built-in suggestions answer instead, written from your data, with one quiet line saying why:
- this month's credits are used up;
- AI is turned off for your workspace;
- the background AI's fair-use limit is reached;
- AI couldn't answer that time.
The automation builder answers with the closest ready-made automations instead, and saves nothing until you pick one. Everything else keeps working.
Your usage and extra credits
Billing > AI usage shows this month's credits used, when they start again, the answers per feature and the background AI used. When the month's credits pass 80%, and again when they're used up, owners and admins get an alert, and people who manage billing or settings see a notice at the top of the page.
On Pro and up, people who manage billing can buy 1,000 extra credits for $25 there. Bought credits are used after the monthly ones, carry over from month to month while your subscription is active, and end if it ends. Used credits aren't refundable. On Starter, Billing shows what Pro adds.
Turn AI off
Owners and admins can switch AI off for the whole workspace in Workspace > AI. While it's off, nothing from your workspace is sent to AI, no credits are used, and built-in suggestions answer everywhere. Your data is never sold or used to train AI.
