Nurture leads with campaigns
A drip of texts, emails and tasks that keeps you in touch for days or weeks, and stops when the lead replies.
Updated
A campaign is a series of steps a lead goes through after you add them: a text today, an email in two days, a check-in later, then a call task for their owner. Automations react to something happening; campaigns keep you in touch over time. Campaigns are on Pro and up.
Create a campaign
- 1. Open Campaigns.
- 2.
Under Start from a template, pick one and press Use this template:
- New lead nurture · 2 weeks: five friendly touches, then a call on the owner's list.
- Re-engage cold leads: three light touches to wake up leads who went quiet.
- After the first meeting: a thank-you, a follow-up email, then a call task.
Or press New campaign to start empty.
- 3. It opens as a draft on the Flow tab. Read and edit each step. Steps can be Send a text, Send an email, Wait, Create a task, Add a tag or Move to a stage. On a wide screen, the day-by-day journey beside it shows what a lead gets and when.
- 4. Press Save changes, or Ctrl S.
Settings
On the Settings tab:
- Sending hours: texts and emails due outside these hours wait until they open. New campaigns send on weekdays between 9 AM and 6 PM; change the hours or turn off Weekdays only. Tasks and tags happen any time.
- Stop when they reply: a reply means it's time for a person to take over. Winning or losing their deal always stops it.
- Opt-outs and sign-off: messages skip anyone who opted out or is missing a fill-in you used, and are signed by the lead's owner. Every email ends with an unsubscribe link.
Emails go out from the mailbox of each lead's owner, spaced at least 30 seconds apart and at most 30 an hour from each mailbox, so a big campaign sends gradually. The campaign's page lists teammates who haven't connected email yet. See Connect your email.
Turn it on and add leads
Press Turn on. Leads can only be added while a campaign is running:
- On the People tab, press Add leads and search for them.
- On Leads, tick the rows you want and press Campaign in the bar at the bottom.
- On a lead's page, press Add on the Campaigns card.
- From a form: its Settings tab has a Nurture campaign for every new lead.
- From an automation, with an Add to a campaign step.
Follow along
The numbers under the header show who's In it now, how many were Added, the Reply rate, Messages sent and how many Completed every step. The People tab lists everyone with their progress and what they get next; filter by In progress, Replied, Finished or Stopped, open someone's history, or take them out.
To pause, flip the switch in the header. Nobody gets a message until you resume, and then leads pick up where they left off.
Good to know
- Owners, admins and managers can create and change campaigns.
- On Starter, the templates are there to look at, and the page says which plan unlocks campaigns. If a workspace moves to Starter (a plan change, or a trial set up without a card that ends without a plan picked), its running campaigns pause, and carry on where they left off when you pick a plan with campaigns again.
- An email for a lead whose owner hasn't connected email waits for them. Their place in the campaign says so, they get a reminder, and after 7 days that email is skipped with a note on the lead's timeline.
- In practice mode, texts are saved in the app but not sent.
Tip: Build your steps around a reply. A short question ("What are you hoping to find?") gets more answers than a long update, and a reply hands the lead back to a person.
